
About Walk Through Texas History
Walk Through Texas History is a 4-week walking challenge designed to promote physical activity in an educational, fun, and challenging way.
Each adult team may include up to 8 team members, all working together to reach designated goals while following along legendary historical paths create by fellow Texans. This is a fun way to stay connected with others and support one another to stay healthy and motivated.
Program Components
- 4-week virtual team competition through historical walking routes
- Access to the Howdy Health platform to track progress. Each member of the team records their progress daily.
- Other events and activities to customize the program
Historical Walking Routes
- The Runaway Scrape (416 miles)
- Join Texan General Sam Houston in a series of strategic retreats during the Texas Revolution
- Texas Historical Commission State Historic Sites (540 miles)
- Virtually visit the 36 State Historic Sites across Texas
